Jennifer Houbre

I grew up in the small town of Waterford, NY, just outside of Albany. I am currently attending the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. I consider Ithaca to be a second home now. 

 

My passion for Journalism began with my passion for reading, writing, and story telling in general. I always loved getting to know people, hearing their stories, and making connections. 

 

This past summer I had the honor of interning with NewsChannel 13 in Albany, a station I’ve been watching since I was a little girl. It was here that I realized my passion for local news reporting. I believe a sense of community is important, and getting to explore and connect with my local community in a new was was especially rewarding.
